New Hope Cambodia is a grass roots, rapidly growing Non-Government Organisation (NGO) run by two dedicated individuals, a local Khmer called Sot Suo (Kemsour) and an Australian woman, Kerry Huntly.
The focus of the New Hope is ‘free education for all’ as the founders recognise the vital role education plays in helping break the cycle of poverty.
The children’s home provides a safe and nurturing environment for orphaned or abandoned children, while the school offers free education to children from impoverished families. The community centre provides a range of services, including healthcare, vocational training, and counseling, to families in need. The microfinance initiative offers small loans and business training to help families start or expand their own businesses.
However the organisation cannot ignore the chronic malnutrition, ill health and horrific living conditions of its community. For this reason, New Hope Cambodia’s activities and programs address the daily issues facing families in crisis situations and, at the same time, find ways to work toward a better future.
New Hope Cambodia relies on donations and volunteers to support its programs. The organisation is committed to transparency and accountability, and provides regular updates and financial reports to its donors and supporters.
